Ithaca College SGA releases senatorial election results

September 11, 2016

The Ithaca College Student Government Association released the results of the senatorial elections, held Sept. 9–10, to The Ithacan. The results are as follows:

 

Senator at Large:

Fatoumata Jallow                126 votes

Seondre Carolina                 81 votes

Alexandria Kosharian               69 votes

No confidence                             23 votes

 

Class of 2020 Senator:

Gabrielle Picca                     88 votes

Sarah Horbacewicz            72 votes

Aisha Mae Mughal                   51 votes

Leonardo Wise                          20 votes

No confidence                           12 votes

 

Class of 2018 Senator:

Conor Friend                       53 votes

Mara Erb                               32 votes

James Flinn                              21 votes

No confidence                          3 votes

 

Transfer Student Senator:

Cornell’s fossil fuel divestment movement aimed to stop the university from investing in oil and gas companies and contributing to climate change through its endowment. 
Local groups urge climate justice action, engage with politicians ahead of equity proposal vote
The college worked with Rankin Climate, a company that assesses institutional climate and specifically works with the college’s working committee, to compile the results of the survey.  The survey was made up of 117 questions, 16 of which were open-ended. Questions from the 2016 Campus Climate Survey were used as a basis and reviewed again by the college.
