FIRE ALARM ACCIDENTAL

LOCATION: Ceracche Athletic Center

SUMMARY: Simplex reported FIRE ALARM. Alarm was caused by a contractor creating dust. Area ventilated and system reset. Fire Protection Specialist Mark Swanhart.

 

AUGUST 3

SAFETY HAZARD

LOCATION: Center for Natural Sciences

SUMMARY: Officer reported a bicycle was found chained to a stair rail. Warning notice issued. Fire Protection Specialist Mark Swanhart.

 

 

AUGUST 4

ASSIST TOMPKINS COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

LOCATION: Coddington Road

SUMMARY: Officer reported loud dispute between two individuals in the roadway. Incident turned over to Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office. Master Patrol Officer Brad Bates.

 

WELFARE CHECK

LOCATION: Coddington Road

SUMMARY: Officer reported a subject passed out, highly intoxicated and not alert. Person declined medical assistance with ambulance and was released to a third party. Master Patrol Officer Brad Bates.

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT

LOCATION: Terrace

SUMMARY: Officer reported a one car motor vehicle accident. Vehicle struck a concrete pillar. Report taken. Master Patrol Officer James Landon.

FIRE ALARM ACCIDENTAL

LOCATION: Boathouse

SUMMARY: Simplex reported a FIRE ALARM. Alarm caused by contractors welding. System reset. Environmental and Safety Officer Tim Ryan.

FIRE ALARM ACCIDENTAL

LOCATION: Clarke Hall

SUMMARY: simplex reported a FIRE ALARM. Alarm caused by faulty equipment. System reset. Fire and Building Safety Coordinator Ron Clark.

 

FIRE ALARM SMOLDERING

LOCATION: Campus Center Quad

SUMMARY: Officer reported that Aug. 6 at 6:45 am a fire had occurred in the mulch area and was extinguished by an unknown person. Master Patrol Officer Mark Denicola.

 

AUGUST 9

FIRE ALARM ACCIDENTAL

LOCATION: Emerson Hall

SUMMARY: Simplex reported a FIRE ALARM. Alarm caused by an accidental activation of a sprinkler head by a contractor. Custodial services removed the water, the sprinkler was repaired and the system reset. Fire Protection Specialist Mark Swanhart.

LOCATION: Muller Faculty Center

SUMMARY: Caller reported a disruptive person yelling at people demanding someone contact a taxi for him. Officer restricted the person from campus. Patrol Officer Michael Marcano.

LOCATION: College Circle Apartment

SUMMARY: Simplex reported a FIRE ALARM. Activation was caused by burnt food. System reset. Fire Protection Specialist Enoch Perkins.

 

AUGUST 11

UNLAWFUL POSS MARIJUANA

LOCATION: College Circle Apartment

SUMMARY: OFfficer issued appearance tickets to seven people for the town of Ithaca court for unlawful possession of marijuana. Five of these people were also cited for underage possession of alcohol, four were issued criminal trespass restrictions and three were referred judicially for the above offenses and possession of fireworks and flammable liquids. Master Patrol Officer Brad Bates.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

LOCATION: State route 96B/Danby Road

SUMMARY: Officer reported two people running in the middle of the highway attempting to flag down cars for a ride. Officer judicially referred one person for danger to self. Patrol Officer Bruce Thomas.

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE

LOCATION: Unknown Location

SUMMARY: Caller reported a person made disturbing comments. Investigation pending. Patrol Officer Jay Vanvolkinburg.

SUMMARY: Officer reported people in a vehicle acting suspiciously. Subjects identified and advised to leave campus property. Patrol Officer Michael Marcano.

 

 

AUGUST 17

UNLAWFUL POSS MARIJUANA

LOCATION: College Circle Apartment

SUMMARY: Officer found smoke detector had been tampered with for residents to smoke marijuana. One person judicially referred for unlawful possession of marijuana, tampering with smoke detector and responsibility of guest. Master Patrol Officer Brad Bates.

 

AUGUST 18

ASSIST TOMPKINS COUNTY SHERIFFS OFFICE

LOCATION: Coddington Road

SUMMARY: Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office reported an unknown person broke into vehicles. Officer located the person matching the description on campus near the incident location.  This person was detained for Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office and was issued a criminal trespass restriction from the campus. Patrol Officer Patrick Johnson.

 

FIRE ALARM ACCIDENTAL

LOCATION: Tallcott Hall

SUMMARY: Simplex reported a fire alarm. Alarm caused by water coming from a broken pipe on the third floor. The pipe was repaired, the area cleaned and the system reset. Master Patrol Officer Brad Bates.

SUMMARY: Simplex reported a Carbon Dioxide detector activation. Carbon Dioxide was found in the room, the area was ventilated and the system was reset. Master Patrol Officer Donald Lyke.

V&T AGGRAVATED DWI

LOCATION: State Route 96B/Danby Road

SUMMARY: During a traffic stop, officer arrested operator for aggravated driving while intoxicated. Officer issued subject uniform traffic tickets for the Ithaca Town Court. Master Patrol Officer Brad Bates.

 

OFF CAMPUS INCIDENT

LOCATION: All Other

SUMMARY: Person reported a one car motor vehicle accident. Report taken. Master Patrol Officer Christopher Teribury.

 

AUGUST 20

FIRE ALARM ACCIDENTAL

LOCATION: College Circle Apartment

SUMMARY: Simplex reported fire alarm. Alarm caused by burnt food. System reset. Fire and Building Safety Coordinator Ron Clark.

SUMMARY: Caller reported an unknown person entered and stole a trophy from the room. Investigation pending. Patrol Officer Daniel Austic.

LOCATION: Whalen Center for Music

SUMMARY: Simplex reported a fire alarm. A valve was accidentally turned on while furniture was being moved around. Officer shut off the valve and the system was reset. Fire Protection Specialist Mark Swanhart.

SUMMARY: Caller reported an unknown person attempted to steal computer equipment from the room. Investigation pending. Sergeant Ron Hart.
