Caroline Levine, professor of humanities at Cornell University, addresses the crowd on The Commons. Levine said she played a key role in Cornell’s decision to divest from fossil fuels in 2020. Cornell’s fossil fuel divestment movement aimed to stop the university from investing in oil and gas companies and contributing to climate change through its endowment. 
Local groups urge climate justice action, engage with politicians ahead of equity proposal vote
The college worked with Rankin Climate, a company that assesses institutional climate and specifically works with the college’s working committee, to compile the results of the survey.  The survey was made up of 117 questions, 16 of which were open-ended. Questions from the 2016 Campus Climate Survey were used as a basis and reviewed again by the college.
