In an Oct. 20 email sent to students in the CSD program, Scott Hamula, professor and chair of the Department of Strategic Communication, sent a note on behalf of Amy Falkner, the Dean of the Park School of Communications, that said the students in the CSD major or minor will still be able to complete their program through the Spring 2028 semester.

As of Fall 2026, the Ithaca College Roy H. Park School of Communications will no longer be offering the communication strategy and design major or minor.

Millions of people gathered across the United States for the Oct. 18 “No Kings” protests to rally against what demonstrators see as rising fascism under President Donald Trump’s administration.

On Oct. 16, New York state Senator Lea Webb presented $250,000 in state funding for The Hangar Theatre Company.

The Ithaca College Office of Public Safety and Emergency Management released its 2025 Annual Security and Fire Safety Report Sept. 30. This report includes crime and fire statistics from the last three calendar years, as well as disciplinary and legal policies, community events and crime reporting guidelines. 
Ithaca is in the top 24% of the most expensive cities in the world to live in, according to LivingCost.org. Many Ithaca College faculty members are navigating the real estate market on lower wages than needed.

As the cost of housing continues to increase in Ithaca, many Ithaca College faculty members are navigating the real estate market on lower wages than necessary to sustainably live in Ithaca.
Students can check their emails, grades, class schedules and assignments through the new myIC portal. The portal is available to download on iOS and Android devices.

Field hockey coach’s impactful leadership recognized with personal milestone

Field hockey head coach Kaitlyn Wahila gained her 100th win with the Bombers on Oct 17. Wahila has been coaching with Ithaca College for nine full seasons and in seven seasons, she has led the field hockey team to a winning record.
