The baseball team won its second game of the season today, shutting out the SUNY- Oswego Lakers 9–0. The Bombers finished their season-opening weekend road trip in Yaphank, N.Y. with an overall record of 2—1.
Freshman pitcher John Prendergast threw seven scoreless innings while fanning nine batters in his first start for the Blue and Gold.
Senior infielder Mike Preite got four hits, including a home run. Freshman first baseman Vinny Gneo also hit a home run — the first of his career.
The Blue and Gold will head out to California next week for spring break, where they’ll play eight games in as many days.
