Bombers can’t make comeback over Nazareth

Despite leading in key statistical categories such as shots, ground balls and turnovers, the women’s lacrosse team suffered its first loss in an Empire 8 game this season, falling 12–11 yesterday at Nazareth College.

The Blue and Gold scored four straight goals over the final four minutes of the game, but couldn’t erase a five-goal deficit in their conference finale. Junior midfielder Katie Hurley had two goals in a 23-second span to start the comeback and finished the game with four. Senior attack Kylie McClure and freshman midfielder Tracy Rivas followed with their third scores of the game.

Senior goalkeeper Courtney Dowell made five saves on 19 Nazareth shots.

The South Hill squad will face the University of Rochester on Tuesday at 4 p.m. in its regular season finale.
