The golf team wrapped up its fall slate of the 2015 season with an eighth place finish at the Wittenberg Pat Clouse Invitational on Oct. 10 and 11. The tournament was hosted by Wittenberg University at the Springfield Country Club in Springfield, Ohio.

The Bombers’ two-day score of 707 left the Blue and Gold with an eighth place finish and 98 strokes off the lead, which was held by Indiana Tech.

Sophomore Indiana Jones led the way for the Bombers, carding a 156, 77 on day one and 79 on day two. Jones finished nine shots behind co-medalists Wiebke Schlender from Indiana Tech and Macy Hubbard from Wittenberg University.

Sophomore Kyra Denish placed 17th with a score of 168, totaling 84 in the first round and 84 in the second round. She was followed by the Bombers’ third and final sophomore, Lauren Saylor, who followed up with a first round 99 and a 92 the following day to put her in 63rd for the tournament.

Seniors Mary Rooker and Colleen Vaughn rounded out the squad, finishing in 65th and 84th after attaining scores of 192 and 264, respectively.

Indiana Tech brought home the tournament title, shooting a 609, followed by Wittenberg, which shot 614. The Bombers’ rival, SUNY Cortland, placed third with a score of 669. Eighty-four competitors from 14 schools took part in the event.
