Men’s Lacrosse: Blue and Gold end losing streak with win over Alfred University

The men’s lacrosse team ended its three-game losing streak and their scoring woes with an easy 11-2 win against hosts Alfred University earlier today.

The Bombers reached double digits for the first time since their 13-11 win against SUNY-Oneonta on March 21st. That was their last win before today. Sophomore midfielder Jake Long, senior midfielder Billy LaPerch and senior attack Devin Weinshank all scored twice. Graduate student attack Jay Lucas scored in his first game of the season after he was forced to miss the first eight games due to an eligibility concern. Eight different Bombers scored in total.

The Blue and Gold improved to 6—3 overall and will return home for a noon matchup Saturday at Higgins Stadium to host the Nazareth College Golden Flyers. Nazareth is 1—0 in the Empire 8 Conference and 4—5 overall following an overtime loss to fourth-ranked Rochester Institute of Technology on Wednesday.
