Volleyball leads Liberty League after dominant doubleheader

The Ithaca College volleyball team continued its dominance on Oct. 25 in Ben Light Gymnasium in a double-header against the William Smith College Herons and the William Paterson University Pioneers. The No. 10 Bombers added two victories to their 15-game win streak, increasing their overall record to 19-3. Game one against the Herons also kept the Bombers undefeated in their Liberty League match-ups.

Football falls to Union in tension-filled final minutes

The Ithaca College football team dropped its first Liberty League Championship matchup in heartbreaking fashion to the Union College Garnet Chargers 19-14 Oct. 25 at Butterfield Stadium. Tensions were high post-game, with the Garnet Chargers and Bombers jawing at midfield after the Garnet Chargers rushed to celebrate on the Bombers’ logo.

Student work showcased at fourth annual Cornell Sports Research Conference

Cornell University held the fourth Cornell Sports Research Conference on Oct. 23-25. The conference brought together students and experts from across the sports industry to promote recent findings and network with each other.

Stunning strike puts women’s soccer’s season on thin ice

The Ithaca College women’s soccer team fell 1-0 to the Rochester Institute of Technology Tigers on Oct. 21 at Carp Wood Field. A miraculous goal from RIT junior midfielder Lindsay Ford less than 15 minutes into the game was enough to defeat a tough Bomber squad. The Bomber’s struggles in front of goals stuck out in a game where the team created an abundance of chances but were unable to score.

Field hockey coach’s impactful leadership recognized with personal milestone

Field hockey head coach Kaitlyn Wahila gained her 100th win with the Bombers on Oct 17. Wahila has been coaching with Ithaca College for nine full seasons and in seven seasons, she has led the field hockey team to a winning record.

Field hockey powers through Rochester in honor of past player

The Ithaca College field hockey team faced off against No. 22 University of Rochester on Oct. 11 at Higgins Stadium, in memory of Kyra Feick, striker/back from 2018-19, who died in June at the age of 25.
The Ithaca Roller Derby SufferJets and BlueStockings are navigating venue changes after their lease ended with The Shops in late 2024. Rochester-based Flour City Fear, an open gender league under the Men's Roller Derby Association, hosted an interest meeting for satellite practices in Ithaca on Oct. 1.
Ithaca derby scene rolls toward new horizons

To newcomers, Ithaca is known for Cayuga Lake, gorges and the annual Apple Harvest Festival. Few realize that it is a hot bed for the local roller derby scene, which will be expanding this winter with the start of satellite practices for Rochester’s Flour City Fear.
Junior setter Wesley Slavin recorded 2,000 career assists Oct. 7, making her the ninth to do so in program history.
Junior sets up strong start for record-breaking career

Ithaca College volleyball junior setter Wesley Slavin made history on the court. As of Oct. 11, Slavin has recorded 2,096 career assists, which currently places her in the top nine for assists all-time in IC volleyball history. Compared to the more than 400 games the others on the assist leaderboard have competed in, Slavin has only played 218 games.
First-year runner Raya Mount from Trumansburg, New York was recommended by her high school track coach to make the switch to cross-country.
