Women’s Crew: First and second varsity eights take top spot

The Ithaca women’s crew team took on Massachusetts Institute of Technology, College of the Holy Cross, Colby College and Connecticut College today at Lake Quinsigamond in Worchester, Mass.

The first women’s varsity 8 finished first, defeating MIT, College of the Holy Cross, Colby College and Connecticut College respectively, with a time of 7:20.9. MIT finished second with a time of 7:24.3, followed by Holy Cross (7:26.8), Colby College (7:54.8) and Connecticut College (8:08.9).

The second women’s varsity 8 defeated Holy Cross, MIT, Connecticut College and Colby College with a time of 7:35.8. Holy Cross finished with a time of 7:41.8, while MIT finished with a time of 7:54.7. Connecticut College finished with a time of 8:09.6, and Colby College finished with a time of 8:26.2.

The women’s third varsity 8 lost their race to Williams College and Wesleyan University with a time of 8:49.1. Williams came out on top with a time of 7:48.4. Wesleyan finished with a time of 8:26.3.

The Bombers look to continue their success when they take on Marist College, Bates College, Williams College and the Coast Guard Academy on April 23 at Lake Onota in Pittsfield, Mass.
