Women’s Cross Country: Blue and Gold defeat host SUNY-Oneonta at weekend invitational

The women’s cross country team continued their winning ways at yesterday’s six-team Oneonta Airfield Invitational, edging out host SUNY-Oneonta by three points.

Senior Heidi Baumbach led the way for the Bombers, getting her first overall win of the year with a time of 23:08 in the 6-kilometer race.

Junior Carly Graham closely followed Baumbach, securing a respectable third place with a time of 23:37.

The Blue and Gold and SUNY-Oneonta placed a combined 14 runners in the top 16, and freshmen Alexia Rick and Anastasia Diamond placed fourth and 10th respectively.

Senior Molly Brown rounded out the South Hill squad’s top five runners, placing 11th and finishing three seconds behind Diamond.

The Bombers will travel to SUNY-Cortland on Saturday to compete in the Jack Daniel’s Invitational.
