The Bombers posted a two-day score of 677 and convincingly defeated a field of four other teams at the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Division II and Division III Women’s Golf Championship, held this weekend at Midvale Country Club in Penfield, N.Y.

The Blue and Gold’s score was 32 strokes less than second-place New York University. St. John Fisher finished third with a total of 796, followed by Le Moyne College (801) and William Smith College (830). The South Hill squad improved on its third-place finish at the 2010 ECAC Championships.

Freshman Sharon Li continued with her strong season, finishing with a 149, 1-under-par. She posted an even-par 75 yesterday and scored 74 in the second round today.

Sophomore Amanda Failla was the Blue and Gold’s second-leading scorer this weekend. Her second round score of 82 was eight strokes better than her opening-round score of 90, giving her a total of 172 for the championship tournament.

The South Hill squad will conclude its fall season next week at the Nazareth Invitational.
