Women’s Indoor Track: Squad captures indoor state title for fourth straight year

The women’s indoor team recorded its fourth straight first-place finish at the New York State Collegiate Track Conference Indoor Championships today at Hamilton College. The Bombers tallied 266 points, which was more than double the second-place team, in recording their 20th top five finish in 26 years.

The Blue and Gold notched 29 individual All-NYSCTC performances and a pair of all-state team finishes in the 1,600- and 3,200–meter relays during Day Two of competition. The Bombers also had four runners place in the 400-meter dash and the 1-mile run.

Junior Jenn Randall won the 1-mile run to set a fieldhouse record and qualify for the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships with a time of 5:06:55. Freshman Emily Smith followed in fourth place with a time of 5:20:60, junior Carly Graham was fifth with a time of 5:21:14, and freshman Alexa Rick was eighth, registering a time of 5:25:39.

Freshman Harmony Garves finished second in the 400-meter dash in 1:00:70 and senior Becca Coffman finished right behind her with a time of 1:01:02.

The Blue and Gold will compete in the ECAC Indoor Championships at the Armory next weekend in New York City.
