Women’s Track and Field: South Hill squad hits seven more ECAC marks

The women’s track and field team showed its strength again this week at the Cornell University April Open by posting seven qualifiers for the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships.

Junior Tammia Hubbard finished with a time of 15.70 in the 100-meter hurdles, qualifying her for the ECACs. In the 200-meter dash, senior Becca Coffman finished 8th at 26.02 seconds, freshman Harmony Graves crossed the finish line in 9th (26.03), and senior Emma Dewart completed the race in 14th (26.17). These times qualified all three athletes for the ECACs.

Dewart also finished in fourth in long jump at 5.60 meters, meeting another ECAC qualifying length Saturday.

In addition to Dewart, the South Hill squad had another successful day of throwing at Cornell. Jessica Hoeffner finished fourth in the hammer throw with a distance of 47.12 meters, qualifying her for the ECAC competition.

Junior Amanda Rissmeyer finished sixth in shot put with an 11.16-meter throw followed by freshmen Corrine Taylor in eighth (10.39), junior teammate Colleen Garman in ninth (10.10), and freshmen Kristina Stockburger in tenth (9.72).

The Bombers will visit Moravian at 4 p.m. Friday for the Moravian’s Coach P Invitational in Bethlehem, Pa.
