The Ithaca College Board of Trustees held an open conversation Oct. 10 to recap its Fall 2025 meetings and answer questions from students, faculty and staff about progress toward reducing the college’s budget deficit, artificial intelligence and uncertainty in higher education.

Ithaca community leaves its mark at inaugural Mural Jam festival

The two-day festival, organized by SouthWorks and Ithaca Murals, invited 10 local, regional and national artists to adorn the abandoned factory walls with original designs. Their canvas? An 820,000 square-foot former industrial factory.

Ithacans for Israel held a memorial remembrance of the Oct. 7, 2023 attacks, and Ithaca College Students for a Free Palestine held a vigil on the escalation of genocide of Palestinians in the Israel-Hamas war Oct. 8.

Ithaca College’s chapter of Guiding Eyes for the Blind is an organization that allows students to become involved in this process. Those raising the dogs can assist in training and preparing the dogs for the real world.

Men’s soccer continues midseason slump against Hobart

The Ithaca College men’s soccer team fell to the Hobart Statesmen in a grueling 3-2 loss Oct. 8 at Carp Wood Field, adding a third game to the Bombers’ two game losing streak. The Bombers battled out a long 90 minutes with the Statesman battling much in the center of the field and not in front of either goal.

When thinking of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, an acclaimed, award-deserving actor is not the first thing that comes to mind. With his newest role as Mark Kerr in an MMA biopic, “The Smashing Machine,” which was released Oct. 3, Johnson combines his two careers into one, giving the performance they have been building towards.

Ithaca College hosts numerous bands across campus, from formal ensembles like Concert Band and Wind Ensemble, to dozens of student bands. This student band culture is vital not only to IC’s students, but the larger Ithaca community as a whole.
