The Ithaca College Faculty Council met May 6 for its last meeting of the 2024-25 academic year to hear an update on the college’s enrollment from Rakin “Rock” Hall, vice president for Enrollment Management and Student Success, amid other agenda items.

SGC confirms members to vacant positions in final meeting of the semester

The Ithaca College Student Governance Council met May 5 for its last meeting of the semester and the first with the newly elected members of the council. Rishabh Sen, president of the student body, introduced confirmations in which new members who did not run in the elections get voted into their new roles.

The Title IX court case against Ithaca College and Bryan Roberts, former associate dean of the Roy H. Park School of Communications, has closed after a stipulation of voluntary dismissal with prejudice was filed May 3.
On April 30, a petition titled, “Oppose the Pause on Deaf Studies,” was started to help stop the Ithaca College Deaf studies minor and courses from being paused.

After word spread across Ithaca College and the Deaf community, IC American Sign Language instructors shared a petition to save the program — and their jobs. 
President Donald Trump’s administration revoked the legal status of more than 4,700 international students at other higher education institutions. Following significant pushback in court, the administration announced April 25 that legal status would be restored for some students.

On April 30, the 17th annual Izzy Award Ceremony was back in person at Ithaca College after being held via Zoom for six years because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Ithaca College baseball team wrapped up its regular season against the Vassar College Brewers on May 3. The Bombers are set to host the Liberty League Championship Tournament beginning May 8 at Freeman Field.
