President La Jerne Cornish told The Ithacan in an exclusive interview that Bob Iger ’73, CEO of The Walt Disney Company, will be attending the 2025 Ithaca College Commencement ceremony to receive a Doctor of Letters.

The Ithaca College Student Governance Council met April 28 for its last meeting with its current members. SGC was joined by Emily Rockett, vice president, general counsel and secretary to the Board of Trustees, who discussed the legal implications of ongoing federal actions regarding higher education.

On Feb. 6. 2025, Susan Bassett ’79, associate vice president and director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Campus Recreation at Ithaca College, announced her plans to retire at the end of the 2024-25 academic year.

Ithaca College hosted Sustainability Week 2025 from April 16-26. Throughout the week, there were different events including a sustainability fair, a talk with a local climate leader, a student-led colloquium, pancakes in the IC Natural Lands and clothing sales.

Hillel at Ithaca College hosted a card-writing event April 24 for 100-year-old Holocaust survivor and educator Judith Altmann. Altmann was originally scheduled to speak via Zoom for Yom HaShoah, the Israeli Holocaust memorial day, but the event was changed due to Altmann being hospitalized for heart failure.

The Ithaca College women’s lacrosse team rejoiced on Senior Day as it defeated the Skidmore College Thoroughbreds 19-11 April 26. The game marked the end of the regular season, with the Bombers holding a 10-6 overall and 7-3 in-conference record.
