Students protest against faculty and program cuts in snow

Approximately 30 protesters gathered outside the PRW Center with signs and dyes to write messages in the snow.
The APPIC released the draft “Shape of the College” document Jan. 13, which recommended the elimination of 116 full-time equivalent (FTE) faculty positions and 26 major, department and program eliminations.

Final recommendations for faculty and program cuts released

The Academic Program Prioritization Implementation Committee (APPIC) released its final recommendations for the Academic Program Prioritization (APP) process.
The Ithaca College Presidential Search Committee has announced that it has picked an executive search firm to use in the search for the 10th president of the college.

IC AAUP circulates petition to reject faculty and program cuts

The petition asks for increased shared governance, an extended timeline and increased financial transparency throughout the Academic Program Prioritization (APP) process.
To fight the cuts and push for shared governance, some faculty members are creating an Ithaca College chapter of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP). The AAUP works to develop standards in higher education and advocates for academic freedom and shared governance.

The Ithaca College Office of Student Affairs and Campus Life hosted a virtual All Student and Family Gathering to provide new and returning students with information for Fall 2022.
