At this year’s 20th annual 4-H Duck Race, 1,856 yellow rubber ducks twisted around a swirling, above-ground swimming pool at a local family home.

Beginning Nov. 15, Tompkins County will institute a curbside compost collection pilot program in which 400 West Hill households will be given the opportunity to put their food scraps at the curb for pick up.
