On Aug. 29, the Ithaca College administration hosted an All-College Gathering for students, staff and faculty to come together, hear the administration’s latest updates and voice their concerns regarding changes on campus.

Departments across the college were asked to cut their budgets in order to reallocate their funds to balance the budget for the 2019–20 fiscal year.
At the All-College Gathering on Aug. 23, Ithaca College President Shirley M. Collado announced that the college’s carbon footprint is projected to drop by 45 percent this academic year. At the All-College Gathering held Aug. 23, the community learned about the first stages of the college’s five-year strategic plan.
Those of us distributing the stickers were clear in our messaging that they were available but not expected or required.
“I stand here with you, continuing to have the courage to share with you who I am as a person and certainly as your leader,” Collado said.
Simply put, the college needs to allocate more resources to ensure that students are safe, happy and healthy while on campus.
Collado is promising, to say the least, and has arrived to much excitement and fanfare in the campus community.
