The Ithaca College softball team tallied two Liberty League wins against the St. Lawrence University Saints on April 19. An early start time and multiple rain delays did not deter the team as it defeated the Saints 5-3 and 10-2.
The Ithaca College softball team witnessed history in the making in a doubleheader against its Liberty League Championship Tournament rival, the Clarkson University Golden Knights, on April 18. Senior pitcher Anna Cornell broke IC’s career strikeout record — the first player to do so in over 20 years.Â
The Ithaca College softball team faced a rollercoaster of emotions April 4 in a doubleheader against the Union College Garnet Chargers. The Bombers entered the matchup with a 22-1 all-time record against the Garnet Chargers, with their last loss being in 2003. They defended their record with a 10-0, five-inning win in game one, but fell 2-1 to the Garnet Chargers in game two.
The Ithaca College softball team battled the SUNY Geneseo Knights, stormy weather and a cancelled game two to come out victorious in a planned doubleheader April 2.
As the seasons change and clocks reset, the Ithaca College softball team is springing ahead of the competition. Spring break meant the Bombers went down to Orlando, Florida, for a breakneck 10 games in five days and one-of-a-kind team building opportunity.
The two games played at Kostrinsky Field on April 23 could not have been any more different. However, both ended with the same result as the Ithaca College softball team earned two one-run victories against the SUNY Cortland Red Dragons by scores of 1–0 and 9–8, with the latter contest going to nine innings.

The Ithaca College softball team fought, but came up short 9–3 against the Division I Cornell University Big Red April 16 at Niemand-Robison Softball Field.
Konstrinsky Field hosted what may have been The Ithaca College softball team’s biggest challenge of the season to date came on April 12, as the Bombers were swept in a doubleheader by the No. 18 Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Engineers by scores of 4–2 in 10 innings and 7–5 in nine. Despite the sweep, the pitching efforts of junior pitcher Anna Cornell were enough to make history on the Bombers’ ground.
In 2023, the Ithaca College softball team played three pitchers throughout its season, all of which had pitched at least six innings the previous year. In 2024, the team has thrown four different pitchers onto the mound, three of which had never thrown a gametime collegiate pitch in their life.
It was a tale of two halves at Kostrinsky Field on April 9 as the Ithaca College softball team split its doubleheader with the Alfred University Saxons, winning the first game 8–0 but losing the second 11–0, both in six innings.
The faculty athletic representative program has been active at Ithaca College for nine years and has quickly developed into a mainstay in the school’s relationship between athletics and academics. Â
Kostrinsky Field saw a historic doubleheader on March 26 as the Ithaca College softball team mercy-ruled the Nazareth University Golden Flyers twice, winning by scores of 8–0 and 12–0 in five innings.
