Executives from Apogee, Ithaca College’s internet provider, traveled from Austin, Texas, to attend the Ithaca College Student Government Council’s weekly meeting Sept. 12.

Internet quality around the Ithaca College campus has been a concern for students as the semester continues and more school work has to be completed.
In response to widespread complaints from students and faculty, Information Technology Services is currently working with Apogee, Ithaca College’s Internet provider, on an overhaul of the campus’ Wi-Fi network in the campus’ academic and administrative areas, which it plans to have finished within the next six to eight months.
As Ithaca College struggles with complaints of poor Wi-Fi connectivity across campus since last semester, officials said the college’s six-year contract with Apogee, its Internet provider for students in residence halls, is set to expire at the end of August 2014.
