Bob Iger ’73, CEO of The Walt Disney Co., will take over the role of executive chairman to ease the transition until the end of his contract on Dec. 31, 2021. Iger has previously said he would be stepping down in 2021.

Bob Iger ’73, high-caliber Ithaca College alumnus and CEO of Disney, came to visit his alma mater Oct. 26 to speak to the college community.
The 159-room hotel is built on what was previously an empty lot on 120 South Aurora St., on the corner of The Commons. It is expected to open in mid to late October.

“We built the hotel, honestly, because there is a demand from multiple sources," Jalazo said. "We saw an opportunity to build quality hotel rooms and fill the demand."
