Ithaca College and the Helen Gurley Brown Foundation have renewed funding for the sixth cohort of BOLD Scholars after funding was not renewed in the Spring 2023 semester.

BOLD Program to resume in Fall 2024 after receiving renewed funds

In a Feb. 27 email to the college community, Bonnie Prunty, vice president of Student Affairs and Campus Life, said the BOLD Women’s Leadership Network has received renewed funds from the Helen Gurley Brown Foundation. According to the email, the renewal of funds will allow the college’s senior leadership to open the application process for the program’s junior cohort.

The BOLD Women’s Leadership Network requires that applicants identify as women, but Samantha Elebiary, BOLD Program Director at the college, said nonbinary identifying students are not discouraged from applying. Elebiary said students are not required to disclose their gender identity on the application. 

BOLD program under investigation for Title IX complaint

The U.S. Office for Civil Rights has opened an investigation into Ithaca College’s BOLD program after receiving a complaint of a Title IX violation.

Pussycat Foundation grants BOLD program $1.2 million

The Pussycat Foundation recently granted the Ithaca College BOLD Women’s Leadership Network $1.2 million to continue the program.
The Class of 2020 is the second class of BOLD Scholars at the college and is comprised of eight seniors: Clare Nowalk, Breana Nieves Vergara, Markiesha Morgan, Kelly Madden, Ashae Forsythe, Audrianna Evelyn, Diana Castillo and Calissa Brown.
