President Tom Rochon visited J. Christopher Burch ’76, CEO of Burch Creative Capital and co-founder of the Tory Burch women’s fashion label, at his resort in Sumba, Indonesia, in March to discuss how Burch’s relationship with the college would continue.

Ithaca College student’s clothing company wins $20,000

Malaika Apparel Co., a business created by Ithaca College senior Rita Bunatal, won the grand prize of $20,000 and the audience choice award of $500 at the third annual Business Plan Competition.
Former Ithaca College student Daniel Minogue hauls equipment he purchased for his brewery and malthouse company: Subversive Malting and Brewing. Minogue and his business partners Zane Coffey and Max Ocean won the top prize in last years Business Plan Competition.

Past Business Plan Competition winners turn ideas into reality

Ithaca College’s Business Plan Competition, held for the past three years, helps student entrepreneurs jump-start their own businesses and cultivate ideas. Last year’s winners have since gone on to establish their businesses or find new paths on which to take their passions and award-winning plans.

Students’ passion for beer wins Business Plan Competition

Ithaca College seniors Zane Coffey, Max Ocean and Daniel Minogue received $20,000 toward their company, Subversive Malting & Brewing, at the Business Plan Competition on April 28.
Sixth-year student Tim Reynolds won $20,000 at the first Business Plan Competition, which was held April 22 in Emerson Suites. His product, KettleShell, is a device to make using dumbbells easier.

Student wins $20,000 for start-up company

Tim Reynolds, sixth-year graduate student in the Department of Physical Therapy, took the first-place prize at the first-ever Business Plan Competition on April 22 for his entrepreneurial company and product, KettleShell.
