They say two’s company and three’s a crowd, but when it comes to volleyball, three is the magic number. It’s the number of times a team can touch the ball during a rally, the number of sets needed to win a match and, if the sophomores of the Ithaca College volleyball team are anything to go by, the ideal number of players for a recruiting class.
The fall sports season requires many hours of focus and hard work with strong training over the summer months. For Ithaca College junior Maddie Cox, volleyball setter, her summer training was unconventional. Instead of honing her skills on the court, Cox underwent intense cadet training.

The Ithaca College volleyball team takes on a tall task every year, playing in several multi-header matchups against different teams; something atypical for other sports at the college.
