Self-help and wellness app Sanvello, which was previously utilized by students and employees of Ithaca College, is no longer available after its parent company, UnitedHealth, merged with a telehealth service called Self Care by AbleTo. The app has been replaced by Wysa, another cost-free self-help app for the campus community that features an AI chatbot.

IC replaces mental health app after previous provider sunsets operations

As of Fall 2024, self-help and wellness app Sanvello, which was previously utilized by students and employees of Ithaca College, is no longer available. The app has been replaced by Wysa, another cost-free self-help app for the campus community that features an AI chatbot.
Walter's Whaleness Express offers five kits for students to order: a sexual health supply kit that includes dental dams, lubricant and condoms; a sleep kit that includes sleep masks and herbal teas; a substance use supply kit that includes tolerance break guides, fentanyl and xylazine tests, tick kits; and quit kits used to start quitting smoking or vaping. 

Center for Health Promotion increases access to free health supplies through private mail orders

In an attempt to provide free, anonymous resources for sexual, mental and physical health, the Center for Health Promotion announced the creation of Walter’s Whaleness Express on March 21.  Michelle Goode, program director for the CHP, said as of April 10, there have been 95 orders for kits on campus so far and the majority of students chose to have the kits delivered to the mail lockers.

THRIVE at IC held its first workshop Oct. 8 to offer students tips on how to balance social, emotional and physical aspects of their lives. 
The naloxone kits are now available inside red first-aid boxes on the walls of most of the lounges or public spaces of residence halls.

Center for Health Promotion adds Narcan to residence halls

The Center for Health Promotion has added 27 naloxone kits to the residence hall lounges at Ithaca College.
Ithaca College now offers Narcan training to resident assistants and other community members interested in being trained. Once the training is complete, they can obtain a Narcan kit. Included in the kit is the kit case, syringes not pre-filled, naxolone, alcohol wipes, latex gloves and a CPR face shield.
