Men’s cross-country rebuilds for Liberty League redemption

Following a difficult yet promising 2023 season, the Ithaca College men’s cross-country team aims to shock the Liberty League this season. Last year, the Bombers team — which lost five seniors from the 2022 season — finished sixth overall in the Liberty League Championship, their lowest-ever finish in a conference tournament. 
Ithaca College track and field and cross country hold annual alumni events multiple times per year. The upcoming Boston University Valentine Invitational on Feb. 9 will mark another event that will bring alumni and current athletes together.

Alumni outreach keeps track and field running

Ithaca College prides itself on alumni relations years after a student graduates. The college hosts annual alumni weekends, invites alumni to speak to students about their field and successes, and provides a safe space where they are always welcome regardless of how long it has been since they have been students. Following in this spirit, the men’s and women’s track and field teams have gone to impressive lengths to harbor a strong tie between their current and previous athletes. 
First-year student  Carter Rothwell, recruited to play track and field at Ithaca College competed in his first race as a member of the men’s cross-country team placing 52nd out of 76 runers in the field.

At the Hamilton Invitational on Oct. 8, the Ithaca College men’s cross-country team saw a solid performance from first-year student Carter Rothwell, who crossed the line in 52nd out of 76 runners.
