Bombers emerge victorious after bitter battle with Red Dragons

The Ithaca College lacrosse team was able to do something the football team could not this academic year – defeat the SUNY Cortland Red Dragons. The Bombers were able to leave Higgins Stadium victorious, 12–11, clinging to victory as the two teams battled down to the wire.

Higgins Stadium was packed for a Liberty League matchup between Ithaca College women’s lacrosse and Union College on March 30. Luckily, the Bombers avenged a loss from last season and dominated the game to achieve an 11–9 victory.

Longtime volleyball coach announces retirement

Ithaca College Athletics announced March 18 that longtime volleyball head coach Johan Dulfer has decided to retire.
The Ithaca College baseball and softball teams take long road trips each season. Neither team will return to its home field until baseball returns March 22 and softball returns March 23.

The Ithaca College baseball team came up short in the NCAA playoffs last year when they fell to the No. 4 Endicott College Gulls 12–10 and 7–3 in the NCAA Super Regional. The Bombers will be looking to rectify their early exit last year and go all the way to the World Series.

Men’s basketball miss playoffs for first time since 2016-17 season with loss to Brewers

The Ithaca College men’s basketball team squared off against the Vassar College Brewers on Senior Day Feb. 17 at Ben Light Gymnasium. The Bombers fell 79-78 in the last minute of the game and gave their final goodbyes to senior guards Andrew Geschickter, Triston Wennersten, Noah Downing and Blake Haber.

Men’s basketball falls to .500 at the hands of the Saints

The Ithaca College men’s basketball team faced off against the St. Lawrence University Saints on Feb. 9 in Ben Light Gymnasium. The Saints won 65–60 after getting late game free-throws to seal the victory.

The Ithaca College volleyball team won its sixth game in a row Oct. 28, taking down the University of Scranton Royals in its final regular-season home game, completing a victorious weekend after defeating Clarkson University on Oct. 27.

The Ithaca College women’s soccer team came out of Senior Day at Carp Wood Field with an unbelievable win over the Clarkson Golden Knights by a score of 1–0 Oct. 7.

The Ithaca College softball team won both games of its doubleheader against the Clarkson Golden Knights on April 27, walking off the first game 1–0 and winning the second 4–0 at Kostrinsky Field.
