The Ithaca College football team is returning to the gridiron with a veteran group that has high expectations, along with a new head coach on the sidelines.

Richard N. Carmean ’60, co-founder of the Cortaca Jug, passed away May 23 at the age of 89, according to a statement from the college June 3.

Football team back and improved to contend for championship

After a year away from the gridiron, the Ithaca College football team will return to Butterfield Stadium this fall with their eyes set on a national championship.
Dave Maley, director of public relations, said via email that the college’s alumni participation rate — the percentage of alumni who give back to the college — has decreased from 12.2% in the 2010 fiscal year to 6.4% in the 2019 fiscal year.
