Tompkins County alerts community of increased COVID-19 cases

The Tompkins County COVID-19 Community Level shifted from low to medium Jan. 19 because of an increase in positive cases and hospitalizations.
Most classes that are currently being offered for Fall 2021 are in-person and operating normally. Students are wearing masks but there is little to no social distancing in place and classrooms are back to full capacity after there were guidelines regarding both in place the previous semester.

Some students and faculty at Ithaca College have expressed varying levels of concern about the potential for the spread of COVID-19 in the classroom.
Ithaca College will not be making any changes to its mask guidelines for the remainder of the spring semester.

Active COVID-19 cases in Tompkins County fall below 100

As of March 3, there were 81 active cases, with 12 new cases reported the same day. Active cases have been under 100 for the last four days.

Ithaca College students with certain medical conditions are now eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine, according to new New York state guidelines.

Cayuga Health Systems (CHS) is suspending services at the Ithaca Urgent Care starting Feb. 15.

College announces reports of COVID-19 guideline violations

At the end of a phased move-in process for Spring 2021, Ithaca College has received multiple reports of COVID-19 guideline violations.
In reaction to four reports of drug-laced drinks and one report of sexual assault at events hosted by Cornell University fraternities, Cornell has suspended all fraternity parties and social events. The Ithaca Police Department and the Cornell University Police Department are currently investigating both reports.  

Cornell raises COVID-19 alert level after cluster identified

Cornell University changed its COVID-19 alert level from green to yellow, which means there is a low to moderate risk of transmission.
