The No. 20 Ithaca College men’s lacrosse team’s 14-9 win against the No. 19 Skidmore College Thoroughbreds on April 25 at Higgins Stadium officially locked the Bombers in as the top seed in the Liberty League playoffs. The senior day celebration game marked the end of the regular season, finishing off with a 11-5 overall record and a 5-1 conference record.

Typically, the Red Dragon that lives 22 miles east of Ithaca only gets widespread and national coverage in mid-November for the annual Cortaca Jug football game as the “biggest little game in the nation.” However, SUNY Cortland is seen as a rival in the eyes of the Bombers’ athletic programs all year round.

The unranked Ithaca College men’s lacrosse team showed out in primetime to defeat the No.6 nationally ranked Rochester Institute of Technology Tigers 9-8 at Higgins Stadium. The Bombers’ defense pumped the brakes on the Liberty League’s top offense to grab the first victory against the Tigers since 2016 and the second in 16 years.

The Ithaca College men’s lacrosse team opened up its home season with a down to the wire 9-8 win against the Nazareth University Golden Flyers on March 4 at Higgins Stadium, bumping their record to 2-2. The Bombers’ productive third quarter was essential, producing five out of the nine goals and allowing just one.
The Ithaca College men’s lacrosse team earned its first Liberty League Championship Tournament victory of the year, defeating the Vassar College Brewers 13-6 March 22, extending its winning streak to five games. Junior midfielder Cullen Adams led the way for the Bombers with three goals, continuing the wave of momentum the Bombers offense is riding.
The Ithaca College men’s lacrosse team earned its second win in a row March 1, defeating the Widener University Pride 16-4. Sophomore midfielder/attacker Lucas Proctor scored a career-high four goals in this game, propelling the Bombers to a dominant victory on a day when the real feel hit single digits.
The Ithaca College lacrosse team sent its seniors off on a high note, defeating Liberty League rival, the Skidmore College Thoroughbreds 15–10 April 27. The Bombers got their first and only conference win of the season.
The Ithaca College men’s lacrosse team could not pick up any momentum against one of the best defenses in the Liberty League, falling well short to the No. 4 St. Lawrence University Saints 15–4 on April 13, putting them in the bottom of the Liberty League standings.
The Ithaca College men’s lacrosse team’s second half comeback bid fell short to the undefeated and No. 2 ranked Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Engineers, who came up 10–9 against the Bombers on March 30.
Beyond their experiences in the classroom, student-athletes at Ithaca College are expanding their knowledge of the human body through the grind of practice sessions and the excitement of game days.
