History was made on the mat Nov. 12, as the Ithaca College women’s wrestling team hosted its first-ever home event in the Glazer Arena, showcasing the young program’s potential.Â
After an offseason of recruitment and preparation, the Ithaca College women’s wrestling team looks to gain experience and set the standard for the program in its inaugural season.

Last July, Ithaca College expanded its athletics program by introducing an NCAA varsity women’s wrestling team. With the 2025-26 inaugural season approaching, the team’s preparations are in full swing, including the hiring of head coach Ryan Ciotoli ’02 and the recruitment of the eight athletes.
Being the first official member of a team holds a significant place in that program’s history. The Ithaca College women’s wrestling team will enter its inaugural season during the 2025-26 academic year. In leading up to the season, the team is coming together because its first athletes have committed to the college.
