The Ithaca College Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced April 25 that longtime head athletic trainer Michael Matheny will be retiring at the end of the 2023–24 academic year.
The faculty athletic representative program has been active at Ithaca College for nine years and has quickly developed into a mainstay in the school’s relationship between athletics and academics. Â
It is essential that the college provides these students with real-world, clinical experiences in a way that also benefits the college community as a whole.
Outside of its athletic caliber — earning back-to-back Liberty League titles in the past two seasons — the Ithaca College baseball team’s talents range far beyond the diamond.Â
Two Ithaca College alumni released a collaborative book and podcast targeted toward aspiring professionals in the field of physical therapy and movement science.
Mental performance consultants at the college, who are professionally trained in athletic psychology, are largely aiding student-athletes in developing mental, life and self-regulatory skills.
