Richard Rainville, lecturer in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures, died Nov. 9. Rainville taught at Ithaca College from 1990 to 2003, and returned to teach part time in Spring 2018.

It was announced to the Ithaca College community that Richard Rainville, a lecturer in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures, has died Nov. 9. 
Alex Lenoble, a lecturer in the French program, teaches a class. He is one of three faculty members who started teaching in the French Department this semester.

Ithaca College French program faces faculty instability

Since the end of the 2014–15 academic year, the Ithaca College French program has relied solely on part-time adjuncts and full-time contingent faculty hired on one-year contracts.
The film festival, Cine Con Cultura, features films produced in Latin American cultures. All 11 films are in Spanish or Portuguese. Tickets are $7.50 per film or $6 for seniors and students. Festival passes are $50 for all films and $40 for seniors and students. Select screenings will be shown for free.

Ithaca College professors teach Spanish film-making abroad

La Poderosa is currently accepting applications for this summer’s program in Ecuador, which runs from May 26 to July 4. Students have until March 15 to apply to receive up to six-credit hours through Stony Brook University.
