At the end of Ithaca College’s spring orientation, sophomore orientation leader (OL) Xavier Newby gave students the opportunity to throw things at him. Students in his group pelted him with anonymous questions about college life — from classes to club sports — written on crumpled pieces of paper.

Mame Ndiaye, assistant director in the Office of New Student and Transition Programs, discussed plans for the Fall 2023 orientation and diversity recruitment.

Ithaca College is still developing plans for Fall 2021 orientation for the Class of 2025, which will take place over the course of three days. 

The Department of New Student and Transition Programs plans to hire 100 students for its orientation staff for the new orientation model. This number decreased due to challenges in recruiting.
