Originally from France, Louis Arques, Ithaca College lecturer in the Department of Performance Studies, is currently filling in for Richard Faria, professor of clarinet performance, who is on sabbatical for Spring 2022 to work on his writing. 

Q&A: French clarinetist fills in for professor on sabbatical

Primarily a clarinetist, Arques also sings, conducts and runs orchestra and chamber ensembles. Arques will teach for the remainder of Spring 2022.
The School of Music hosted a memorial service in person and on Zoom for Harold Reynolds that was full of kind words and trombone tributes of his favorite songs from alumni and former faculty members. Individuals who knew Reynolds personally gave heartfelt testimonies to a packed auditorium on the time they spent with Reynolds and emphasized his good nature and humor. The service was followed by the Trombone Troupe Concert, of which Reynolds used to be artistic advisor and director.

Ithaca College community members gathered Nov. 12 to honor the life and legacy of Harold Reynolds, retired assistant professor in the Department of Performance Studies.

Ongoing artist series provides respite from weekly stress

Sophomore Baily Mack, a music performance and education major through a four-and-a-half-year double major program the college offers, is taking 18.5 credits this semester. She said she has never taken fewer than 17 credits per semester.

Music students struggle with demanding culture and courses

In Spring 2017 at Ithaca College, then-freshman Courtney Webster was taking 13 courses, worth 16 credits, to fulfill her music outside field major.
Steven Banks, assistant professor in the Department of Performance Studies at Ithaca College, and three other musicians were chosen to receive three-year comprehensive management contracts. This contract offers Banks performing opportunities at recital halls and with orchestras in New York City and Washington, D.C. 

Music professor wins international performance award
