School of Music works on diversifying music selection

Despite the tradition of music conservatories focusing primarily on European composers, the Ithaca College School of Music is working to diversify its music selection.
Roger Richardson, associate provost for diversity, inclusion and engagement, was announced by President Tom Rochon on Nov. 10 as the interim chief diversity officer. According to a recent announcement, it is unclear whether a permanent person will be hired for the position.

Although the plan covers a timeline of roughly 2 1/2 years, Roger Richardson, associate provost of diversity, inclusion and engagement and interim chief diversity officer, said it is not realistic for all deadlines to be made.
