Simeons restaurant on The Commons is reopening after over two years of construction, following an accident that destroyed the restaurant in 2014. Simeons held its soft opening Aug. 23 and a grand opening will follow in the coming weeks.

The intersection of North Aurora Street and East State Street at the head of The Commons is clear of construction for the first time in over two years, marking the reopening of the corner restaurant: Simeon’s bistro.

Effort begins to change street name to honor Mandela

Freshman Sophia Conger, Gabby Malave and Jaylen Young have begun organizing an effort to rename Plain Street, Nelson Mandela Street to honor the former South African president’s passing in December 2013.
Organizers take part in the groundbreaking ceremony for Seneca Way on Wednesday. The 56,000 feet apartment complex will be located at the base of East Hill.
