The Ithaca College Department of Education will launch a new Bachelor of Arts in Education Studies degree in Fall 2023. 
Under the approved changes, students seeking a teaching career in one of the discontinued education majors will major in their respective content area at the undergraduate level and minor in education studies

Education studies majors to be restructured amid cuts

Thirteen undergraduate teacher education majors at Ithaca College will be discontinued but most will be substituted with equivalent graduate programs.
Several faculty in the Department of Education contributed to the creation of the education studies minor, which integrates anthropology, philosophy, politics, psychology, sociology and women’s and gender studies.
