Local film festival celebrates Latino heritage

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, Cultura Ithaca and The Latino Civic Association of Tompkins County (LCA) organize the Cine con Cultura Latinx American Film Festival in Ithaca every fall.
The 2018 film “Too Late to Die Young” was screened as a part of Cine con Cultura Latin Film Festival on  Sept. 21 and 22 at Cornell Cinema. The festival celebrates Latino filmmakers and their contributions to the industry.

The festival features 12 Latin American films. All the films are in Spanish or Portuguese, and will be showing at local venues. General admission is $8.50 and student/senior tickets are $6.00. The festival started on Sept. 19 and will end on Oct. 15.

To honor graduating seniors, the Modern Languages and Literature department hosted a graduation party and annual Journey's Competition.
The film festival, Cine Con Cultura, features films produced in Latin American cultures. All 11 films are in Spanish or Portuguese. Tickets are $7.50 per film or $6 for seniors and students. Festival passes are $50 for all films and $40 for seniors and students. Select screenings will be shown for free.
