Professor and students collaborate at NASA

In 2009, Beth Ellen Clark Joseph, professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, was invited to participate in one of NASA’s missions.

The School of Humanities and Sciences at Ithaca College recently approved a new minor in media literacy. She has been advocating for the minor to be implemented at the college for the past 10 years.

H&S approves new media literacy minor

H&S has approved a new interdisciplinary minor in media literacy. Students can begin to declare the minor in Fall 2019.
Ithaca College held four open sessions on Feb. 18, 19, 20 and 21 where students, staff and faculty could meet the finalists for the dean of the School of Humanities and Sciences position.

IC holds open sessions for H&S dean finalists

Four open sessions have been held for students, faculty and staff to meet the finalists for a new dean to lead the School of Humanities and Sciences.
In an email to current juniors, Dean of Students Bonnie Prunty and Rosanna Ferro, vice president of the Division of Student Affairs and Campus Life, announced the launch of the Senior and Graduate Housing Community, which will be located in Eastman Hall. Seniors and graduate students can live in the community for either one semester or both during the 2022–23 academic year.

College restructures fall orientation for incoming freshmen

Tensions rise during LGBTQ forum

Members from the Ithaca College administration and IC Color held an open forum Oct. 30 for the college community to have a dialogue about creating a safe environment for LGBTQ students.
The college announced March 18 that it will not renew its contract with Sodexo. The food provider has existed on campus for nearly 20 years and has faced frequent criticism from the campus community.

Campus Center Dining Hall lacks space for large numbers of students
