New executive director of Hillel at IC to begin position July 8

Julie Boden Adams was hired as the next executive director of Hillel at Ithaca College. The announcement was made June 6 by the college’s Hillel staff and Board of Directors. 
Following the discovery of the first swastika in Baker Walkway, Interim President La Jerne Cornish sent an email to the campus community condemning the symbol Feb 4. After the second swastika was found in Whalen, the Office of Public Safety and Emergency Management sent out an alert Feb. 8 to the campus community.

Two swastikas found drawn in Ithaca College campus buildings

Since Feb. 3, two separate swastikas have been found drawn on the IC campus. Both are under investigation –– one as a potential vandalism hate crime.
Lauren Goldberg, interim director of Religious and Spiritual Life and executive director of Hillel at Ithaca College, was one recipient of Hillel International’s Richard M. Joel Exemplars of Excellence Award in 2021.
