Exploratory Program requires new students to pick concentrations

Incoming students who join the Exploratory Program will have to choose a school concentration so they can explore programs within a known interest.
Approximately 30 participants attended the event, including three professors in the Department of Mathematics, four career panelists, seven Ithaca College student volunteers majoring in math, and high school and middle school students, mainly from local schools.

I knew I would go to the college, declaring seemed to be the scariest thing I could do. I found my home in academics, in friends and my go-to places. 
The additional recommendations include: Create a streamlined undergraduate application process, increase flexibility of the curriculum, make the faculty workload more equitable, revise and implement the course schedule, establish centralized management of graduate programs and reevaluate course caps.

La Jerne Cornish, provost and senior vice president for academic affairs, and Hayley Harris, vice president for human resources and planning, made the announcement to the campus community Nov. 14. According to the email, the moves address the goals of advancing the Campus Master Plan in the college’s five-year strategic plan.

The college announced Oct. 23 the co-chairs for the nine working groups outlined in the college’s five-year strategic plan.
Maria DiFrancesco, professor in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures, will become the director of the Exploratory Program starting January 2020. She will be taking over the position from Elizabeth Bleicher, interim chair of the Department of Education and current director of the Exploratory Program.
