IC Board of Trustees to begin presidential search process

The Ithaca College Board of Trustees is in the process of reviewing proposals from executive search firms to assist with the search to replace President Tom Rochon, who announced his resignation Jan. 14 after a semester of protests led by the group POC at IC and student and faculty votes of no confidence.

As Ithaca College advances discussions about moving all course evaluations online, there is doubt in local and national conversations on the effectiveness of using course evaluations to judge a professor’s skill.
According to students and co-workers, Don Lifton was a dedicated and active member of the Ithaca College community. Lifton died Dec. 5 at 69 years old.

Faculty Council is being criticized by faculty members for releasing the results of the faculty no confidence vote to Ithaca College President Tom Rochon and the Ithaca College Board of Trustees before the rest of the college community.

The Ithaca College Board of Trustees asked the Faculty Council to pick two faculty members to serve on a task force evaluating the governance structure at the college.
