Editorial: Climate change has lasting effects on the city

Natural disasters require us to proceed with caution and apply conscious thought to our interactions with the local environmental concerns related to climate change.
As the effects of climate change begin to roll in, locals in Ithaca can expect increased flooding and severe weather. Many of the citys buildings are at high risk of flooding.

As climate change-related weather events intensifies, infrastructure, farming and human life and property in the state of New York and the City of Ithaca are being impacted.
Residents of West Tower are now able to return to their rooms following flooding that occurred Nov. 30. The flooding was caused by a student breaking a fire sprinkler in the building.

The tenth floor of West Tower at Ithaca College flooded on the afternoon of Nov. 30 because of an activated fire sprinkler.
