Before I left for the SPJ conference on Friday morning, I had planned to write a piece on how being gluten free while traveling/at a conference where most of the food is provided is really difficult to obtain. It was definitely possible, but I was not prepared at all.

We are getting to the later part of the year where people everywhere are starting to get sick. The change in temperatures, allergies and being around so many people all of the time can all affect you. Here are some ways you can get over it all:
The app, called GET Mobile, will be made available for students at the college on mobile devices and through an online portal. It is slated to be released January 2016 in time for the spring semester.

Ithaca College Dining Services is working to release a mobile app that will enable students and faculty to preorder and prepay for their food from Sodexo-run facilities on campus.
Cory Young, an associate professor and graduate program chair in the Department of Strategic Communication, has been traveling around the world to learn more about culinary communications, and said she is toying with the idea of starting a minor at Ithaca College.

Ithaca College professor explores culinary communications

From Tokyo to Italy, Cory Young’s passion for food and communications has brought her around the globe. Currently on sabbatical leave, Young is on a quest to combine these two passions to define culinary communications and how it could potentially become a field of study at Ithaca College.
Christopher Hanna, a senior developmental sociology major at Cornell University, argues that people across the world waste 1.3 billion tons of food per year, and that we need to focus more on this issue in society.

Sodexo to raise money to combat local childhood hunger

Food Frenzy, which has existed for roughly 10 years, is a charity event that incorporates foods from Sodexo and outside vendors to create an all-you-can-eat food buffet that costs a donation of $3. All donations from the event benefit the BackPack Program for The Food Bank of the Southern Tier.
