As part of Ithaca Colleges curricular revisions process, several courses shifted from three to four credits, which was reflected in the Fall 2023 course catalog. The increase in credits has extended classes meeting time and prompted faculty to increase course material.

College reflects on shift from three- to four-credit courses

Ithaca College’s Fall 2023 course catalogs reflected curriculum changes that have been in the works for the past few years, since many schools at the college have shifted from three- to four-credit courses. 
Elizabeth Bleicher, dean for Student Success and Retention, gave a presentation on the newly formed Center for Student Success and Retention. The center aims to root out the barriers to student success and increase the college’s third semester retention rate, which for 2022–23 was 83%.

Faculty Council discusses substantial changes at the college
