Orientation for freshmen and transfer students was held from Aug. 16 to 21, with an option for students to arrive Aug. 14 and participate in Jumpstart programs. Orientation is organized by the Office of New Student and Transition Programs, while Jumpstart is organized by the Office of Student Engagement.

Pre-semester programs see increase in attendance

New students flooded onto the IC campus throughout the week of Aug. 15 to attend pre-semester programming which had greater engagement than previous years.
This increase corresponds with national trends. Higher education institutions across the country, including Ithaca College, are seeing increased populations of students of color on campus, a trend fueled by national demographic changes, experts say.

Freshman class sees rise in ALANA enrollment

Ithaca College welcomed the a freshmen class with the largest percentage of Asian-American, Latino, African-American and Native American students — nearly 25 percent — in the institution's history.
