Esports Expansion: A new era for Ithaca gamers

Keyboards clicking in unison with mouses and callouts for strategic play reverberate around the walls of Friends 101. Team members of the IC Esports Club line the two rows of personalized computers, preparing for their next competition while casual fans can be found playing their favorite games. Both archetypes of gamers anxiously await a new and expanded gaming room. 
Senior Manny Sanchez, captain of the IC Blue League of Legends team, said the team has been unable to use the esports room at the college this year because of scheduling difficulties. Instead, the team practices virtually, using online chat apps to communicate.

Esports Club continues to compete despite COVID-19 shutdowns

When Ithaca College made the decision to continue online instruction for Fall 2020, athletes in fall sports lost the opportunity to compete together on campus. Well, most sports anyway.
Students can check laptops out with their student ID from the kiosk, which is located in Friends Hall outside Room 110C.

Information Technology installs new laptop rental kiosk

In Fall 2019, Ithaca College installed a laptop kiosk on the first floor of Friends Hall to give students without laptops access to the resource. 
One of many upgrades to campus that students will see this semester, is a newly-renovated studio in the Roy H. Park School of Communications. Other renovations include upgrades to the Fitness Center; improved Wi-Fi service; and renovations in the Terrace Dining Hall.
